Before touching anything related to design, I wanted to understand the effects of sedentary lifestyle on employees due to work from home condition.

A 2017 paper  by the Sedentary Behavior Research Network (SBRN) defined sedentary behavior as any activity involving sitting, reclining, or lying down that has a very low energy expenditure.

To better understand Employees condition, I started conducting Q/A sessions with close friends who have experienced such challenges during WFH.

During these research phase, I also tried to understand;

- Situation the pandemic has created for employees (positives & negatives)
- Impacts on Mental & physical well-being because of WFH
- Stats & data on combating stress, leading a healthy lifestyle, doing physical excercises, etc
- Effects on morale and productivity due to WFH

In order to come up with solutions / features that will be helpful for users. I wanted to understand the psychology of the how someone forms a habit & effectively manage to work from home.

- Breaking habits into chunks, increase chances to achieve goal
- Never miss your target twice
- Being Patient and consistent with efforts

Just like every other employee initially he was excited to start working from the comfort of his home but as it was not long when he started to realize the pressure he was under due to increase in work load and decrease in his productivity. Due to lack of physical activities, his lethargic behavior was effecting his ability to focus and be productive. He is planning to start building healthier habits like doing mediation & exercise to improve his well-being.

Working on this problem helped me widen my understanding of sedentary lifestyle and its ill-effects. Finding the right features that solved the users problem was challenging, but this project helped me get out of my comfort zone & challenge myself to deliver user centric solutions.

However, there are still a lot of inputs & features that could be added with proper testing and identifying the problem with the help of real-time user data.
